France Clusters, Plastipolis, Novachim, Terralia, and Cereales Vallée took part in a meeting on bio-economy with other European clusters from the Alpine Space, in Milan on 14 February. This meeting was organized as part of the AlpLinkBioEco project (co-financed by the EU via Alpine Space INTERREG programme), a project in which France Clusters and Plastipolis are partners and which aims to create new trans-regional value chains for the bio-economy in the fields of agriculture, wood, food and pharmaceutical packaging and chemistry.
Three workshops were organised throughout the day:
The first, « Mapping clusters » helped to identify the clusters involved in the fields of agriculture, wood, food and pharmaceutical packaging and chemistry, the four bio-based value chains targeted by the AlpLinkBioEco project.
The second workshop aimed to identify the businesses within the clusters so as to integrate them in the tool that is being developed to create links and consider new business opportunities along the four bio-based value chains to be developed.
The third and last workshop was organised in smaller sub-groups gathering clusters from agriculture, wood, food and pharmaceutical packaging and chemistry. They discussed the work already achieved by partners on descriptors of the value chains of businesses active in the bio-economy so to prepare the next steps of the project.
