On 16 February 2021, the Alpine Policy Forum and SmartSME gathered over 100 participants. The Alpine Policy Forum is organised as part of the Interreg Alpine Spaces Project AlpLinkBioEco, of which France Clusters and the competitiveness cluster Polymeris (rubbers, plastics and composites sector, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes – Bourgogne-Franche-Comté – Centre-Val de Loire – Nouvelle-Aquitaine – Pays de la Loire – Ile-de-France regions) are partners.
At the Alpine Policy Forum, the national and regional strategies linked to bio-economy were first presented by representatives from the ministries concerned in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Lombardia, Austria, Slovenia and Switzerland. Next, was a round table to enable exchanges on the perspectives of a trans-regional implementation of these strategies (who is involved, tools, measures, funding), on the links with the S3 (Smart Specialization Strategy) and on the impact of Covid-19. The afternoon’s exchanges concerned approaches, tools and policy recommendations to activate bio-sourced chains of value in unforeseen circumstances such as pandemics as well as actions aiming to reduce obstacles to digitalisation for non-technological SMEs.
The elaboration of a directive plan for a common bio-economy strategy in the alpine spaces is underway, as a result of this forum and, especially, of the work of the AlpLinkBioEco project.
